Welcome to the May Family Ranch
right next to heaven...

Located just off of the Salmon River Scenic Byway (Highway 75), midway between the beautiful
Stanley Basin and the rustic community of Challis in what is known as the Idaho Primitive Area

Family Reunions and Retreats

May Family Ranch is an ideal location for your family reunion, retreat, camping, hunting or fishing trip. We can easily accommodate from 1 to 200 persons. We are in one of the premier recreational and hunting/fishing areas in Idaho. The mountains surrounding us have numerous hiking, biking, &ATV trails. Popular with visitors are the old mining towns, Challis’ 8-hole golf course, museums, and the unmatched beauty of our surroundings.

During the summer, the Salmon River is alive with rafts and kayaks. The river, as well as surrounding lakes and streams, offer great trout, salmon, and steelheadfishing. Nearby Redfish Lake is the local venue for motorized rivercraft and recreational water equipment of all types. There are several hot pools in the river to enjoy when the water level is right.

The Ranch is open year-round. We offer a variety of accommodations. The Lodge sleeps 28 and the Miners' Cabin sleeps 14. Both are both self-contained units. We have 8-person family cabins, private loft rooms, a bunkhouse that sleeps 26, private rooms with baths, as well as many tent spaces and RV hookups. Guests have access to all amenities including the hideout, the kitchens, dining areas, firepits, and sports area at no additional cost. Bed and Breakfast is an option if you’re looking for a full service experience. Weekly and monthly rentals are also available. *NOTE: The Lodge has big, brown, poofy couches. The Miners' Cabin has blue. The Hideout has blue couches and a rose-colored 2-place recliner

We look forward to hosting you!
